Assisting Regional Collaborative Business Development Initiative

We design and facilitate two to three regional meetings reaching a consensus as to the internal marketing aspects of the regional collaborative business-development effort. Key aspects of the sessions include the following: Building additional capacity for collaboration, developing an internal marketing/communications plan outlining the regional competitive advantages, creating collaborative structures for the future, determining expected outcomes and progress measures.

Benefits:

  • Bringing business, government and leadership together to embrace a shared initiative- long term - to strengthen the economy
  • Develop a focused internal communications plan to the stakeholders
  • Fostering greater cooperation and collaboration in the economic development effort for your region

Targeting Based on Regional Cluster Analysis

Regional Cluster Analysis identifies value-chain clusters (buyer-supplier linkages), technology clusters and labor clusters. We identify industry targets by conducting an analysis of the clusters to spot industry sector gaps that could be targeted for expansion or development within the "broader" region. The analysis focuses on clusters that have significant presence in the region as well as emerging clusters that could be expanded or developed within the region. The geography of the Regional Cluster Analysis will include multiple counties.

Benefits:

  • Improving economic development competitiveness
  • Fostering the region's identify as a productive and profitable place to do business

Establishing Private Sector Industry-Led Teams for Cluster Development

This service provides assistance to organizations in the establishment of up to five (5) private sector industry-led cluster development teams. This includes approximately five initial sessions with identified teams supported by local development staff members. The teams focus on improvements desired or needed in a specific cluster or across clusters. Identified issues may include workforce, technology improvements, transportation issues and new-product development, among others.

Benefits:

  • Providing ongoing direction
  • Building capacity to strengthen the regional position in each cluster and to sustain those efforts

Developing a Private-Sector Fundraising Strategy for a Region

We provide assistance in designing a self-directed private sector fundraising strategy by outlining a step-by-step implementation process. This also includes a volunteer training session.

Benefits:

  • Sustaining the regional initiative
