Benefiting from Tomorrow's Economic Development Professionals

Many economic development organizations have benefited from having a UNI intern on their staff. UNI offers an economic development academic emphasis along with several other programs that offer graduate and undergraduate courses covering economic development topics. Many students enrolled in these programs seek internships with development organizations. We generally work to place student interns in organizations located near their summer residences. School-year interns can also work limited hours for organizations located within a reasonable distance of the University. We expect that student interns will receive a stipend for their work, as agreed to by the student and your organization.

Benefits:

  • Having additional staffing to augment your usual staff in accomplishing special projects or ongoing programs
  • Former interns are in leadership roles in economic development
